Hi! I am so glad you are here! I love to write, but my writing embraces purpose when beautiful eyes like yours take it in and enjoy it. So thank you for stopping by. Before I share the bits that make up my life, I want you to know why you might want to visit me here.
I have felt the calling to write for some time. I knew the “what” I wanted to do and that was write. But the “why” or the purpose for my writing was more difficult to discover. The reason I couldn’t find the “why” was because I was focused on me and I was supposed to be focused on you. Once I understood that I needed to shift my focus onto others, my purpose came into focus. When I thought about the amazing women I know and the conversations we have shared, I realized that we all long for the same thing. We all want to know that our life matters.
I hope you are here because you want your life to matter too. Even if you haven’t formalized that thought in that way, having the assurance that your life matters, that you make a difference, that you are enough and the world is a better place because you are in it would ease a tremendous, silent burden we all carry with us. Self-doubt and feelings of insignificance try relentlessly to convince us that our life doesn’t matter…but it does! And we are going to discover why, how to believe that it does, and then impact each day with purpose, because we have been created to live a life that matters right where we are each and every day!
Now for the bits about me. . .
My name is Cherie. You can say it the fancy, French way or the plain, without the accent way. My ears hear it all the same, but my parents say it the plain way unless they mean business.
I am married to my husband. I know, right? I could use “the love of my life” or “my best friend”, but husband is a powerful word. Not all married men are husbands. I am thankful everyday that I reside in the deepest places of his heart. “Only for Forever”, Harold!
I am a mother, step-mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. I’ve got a whole lot of mothering going on and I LOVE it! I am so honored to get to love them all. Each one of them holds qualities I wish to emulate.
Here comes the roller-coaster, crazy. . . I was a teacher for 17 years, I left teaching to become an esthetician, I own a day spa and have a staff of 10 beautiful professionals, I teach estheticians in the U.S. and Canada, eh? I am in my last semester of seminary, yippee!
And, this is how I developed mad circus skills. . . my husband is in seminary with me, we host and lead a small group at our home, we mentor couples when we can, I am writing a book, and in the last three years one daughter blessed us with a grandson, another daughter got married, and the youngest one finish high school and left for college.
My heart. . .loves Jesus, loves people, hungers for truth, desires to help others, and deeply yearns to live a life that matters!
